Paul Gummer
FNZIPP
Paul was born in England and moved to Australia to study photography in the 1980's. Portrait work of Asian boat people in Melbourne is represented in both the Australian National Gallery, Canberra and the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia. He retrurned to UK to work as a freelance photographer specialising in architectural work with clients including ‘Country Life’ magazine, ‘The Landmark Trust’ (an historic buildings trust), architects, etc. After completing an MA in Art & Design, he moved to New Zealand in 1997 where he teaches photography on a degree programme at UCOL in Palmerston North. He received Merit Awards resulting in work being published in the American ‘B&W‘ magazine. Recently, he won Gold and Silver Medals at the New Zealand Professional Photography Awards and Silver medals at the Australian APPA Awards. He is a Fellow of the NZIPP and won the 2008 NZIPP Creative Photographer of the Year Award.
