About the Shot
The photo was created for a personal project called "Influence" to portray
influential subjects in an artistic manner. This subject is Brynn Neilson,
founder of a NZ based web company Spinning Planet. He has travelled the
world, being lost and confused as to what he wanted to do with his life. I
wanted to describe this emotion in the hectic world that we live in. The
Regent theatre is an iconic image of Palmerston North, my local town, and
thus served as an appropriate backdrop. We had to do several takes with
Brynn being in different parts of the image. We even had to stop traffic a
few times to get the shots we wanted. The shots were then carefully collated
and the touched up was designed to give an old feel to the picture, so the
viewers could feel like they were back in time, and mixed this with the fast
moving cars and people.

After gaining his PhD in dairy technology in 2006, Dr. Binh Trinh quickly
discovered his passion and hidden talent for photography, and started
Picture Perfect Photography. In under three short years, Dr. Trinh has won
many national and international awards.
Dr. Trinh has become one of the most
sought after wedding photographers in his home town, and has begun to take
on destination weddings. He is expanding his business into fine art
portraits, and awards like this will help to increase his reputation as a
true artist.
